Leona Lewis Mobo Award Nominee 2008

She won the X Factor show in 2006 walked in stardom with her brilliant talent and well known modesty has now been nominated for the Best UK Female Artist in the Mobo Awards 2008. The foundation for this comes from receiving four prestigious Brit Award nominations, the UK equivalent of the Grammy Awards. In December 2007, "Bleeding Love" won The Record of the Year and the award for Best Track in the Virgin Media Music Awards 2007.

Leona Lewis debut album hit the number one spot and then went on to become Britain's fastest selling album of all time. The single Bleeding Love was co-written and produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan "Alias" Tedder held the number spot for seven weeks with the album cover selling over 1 million copies within just 5 weeks since it was released.

In January 2008, the song was nominated for the British Single award at the 2008 BRIT Awards. Although the award was won by Take That's "Shine", it was announced that "Bleeding Love" had received the second highest number of public votes. The massive success of "Bleeding Love" earned Lewis the music award at Britain's Best 2008, which was aired on ITV1 on Friday 23 May 2008.

On the X Factor show with the infamous Simon Cowell as one of the judges on the panel quoted: "I think she's one of the best singers we've seen in this country for a long, long time."Knowing a superstar when he heard it, Cowell phoned legendary music executive and J Records founder Clive Davis and told him: "You might have the next Whitney Houston on your hands." Looking at the success Leona Lewis has achieved since this show marvels this statement in full as when the single Bleeding Love was released in the US ans stayed at #1 on the Hot 100 for four non-consecutive weeks.

The First time Leona Lewis appeared in the US was when she made her edbut on the Oprah Winfrey Show in March 2008 and then this went on to the Good Morning America show in April 2008 .Since her appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show The hostess herself Oprah Winfrey was overwhelmed with Leona Lewis performance of Bleeding Love and stated "that girl can really sing" and of course this rocketed her career in the States.
